what can I expect?
Home groups are made up of people. Since no two people are exactly alike, no two home groups are exactly alike. However, each somanorth home group strives to do 5 things:
Familiarity
The ideal home group has 6-15 members (bigger home groups are that way by default, not by design).
Prayer
Home groups break down into smaller prayer groups frequently (in order to facilitate transparency, prayer groups are often just men or just women).
Interactive Bible Study
Don’t expect to get a sermon at a home group. Expect to read, study, and discuss Scripture each time you meet.
Service
Home groups are not for spectators; they are for participators. Each home group member is encouraged and provided the opportunity to serve the group.
Training
Home groups are not supposed to be big, they are supposed to grow, train new leaders, and launch new groups.

 Selected Topics
The members of our home group are committed to helping each other grow in our faith and trust Jesus more and more each day. We spend time catching up on what God is doing in our lives and getting to know each other deeper. We also spend time discussing God's Word and applying it to our lives. Every night concludes with a time of prayer and thanksgiving. One unique aspect of our home group is that we have a good blend of married, engaged and single folks.

 Selected Topics
Friday night is based on 1 Cor 14:26 "What is the outcome then, brethren? When you assemble, each one has a psalm, has a teaching, has a revelation, has a tongue, has an interpretation. Let all things be done for edification." Everyone comes with something to share with the rest of the group. It's a spiritual potluck led by the Holy Spirit. Worship, sharing, teaching, prayer, and fellowship abound. 7:30 until you need to leave.
